Google Optimizing Their Optimizer?

While tinkering around in some of our PPC accounts the other day, our team came across an interesting find in AdWords.

As you may or may not know, Google has a nifty, semi-useless tool called the Campaign Optimizer. The Campaign Optimizer is accessible on the campaign detail page under the very descriptive link "Optimize Campaign":

Well, the industrious folks at Google, in their never ending quest to make everything better, are optimizing their optimizer. Look at the two pics below:

Hmm...Looks like Google is getting a little semantically savvy. Would you rather click on the 'Campaign Optimizer' or look through your 'Opportunities for Improvement'? Maybe 'Improve My Campaign'.

Which do you like? I'm rather fond of 'Opportunities for Improvement'.

It seems we're not the only ones noticing tests being done by Google. Recently they've tested description snippet length and text ads on local search, among others.

Does this affect anything? Maybe, maybe not. It's just another example of Google's continuous improvement and attention to detail.
